Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
Distance: 10 km | Time: 4–6 hours | Habitat: Montane Forest
After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred from Arusha to Momella Gate (1,500m) where registration and briefing take place. You’ll begin your trek through the lush forest accompanied by an armed ranger, passing by buffaloes, giraffes, and colobus monkeys. The trail ascends gradually to Miriakamba Hut where dinner and overnight stay await.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,570m)
Distance: 8 km | Time: 3–5 hours | Habitat: Forest & Moorland
After breakfast, continue your ascent through a mix of forest and heather zones with magnificent views of the Meru Crater and Ash Cone. Arrive at Saddle Hut in time for lunch. In the afternoon, take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for panoramic sunset views before returning for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Summit (4,566m) – Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha
Distance: 19 km | Time: 8–10 hours | Habitat: Alpine Desert to Forest
Wake up around midnight for your summit attempt. Begin the steep climb to Rhino Point (3,800m) and onward to Cobra Point (4,350m) before reaching the summit of Mount Meru (4,566m) at sunrise. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Great Rift Valley. Descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast, continue down to Miriakamba Hut, and finally to Momella Gate, where you’ll be transferred back to Arusha.
