Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife destination and one of Africa’s greatest natural treasures. Covering vast open plains, rolling savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rocky kopjes, the park is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
Renowned worldwide for the Great Wildebeest Migration, Serengeti hosts more than two million wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles as they move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. This spectacular journey attracts predators including lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles, creating one of nature’s most remarkable wildlife events.
Beyond the Great Migration, Serengeti offers exceptional year-round game viewing with healthy populations of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and over 500 bird species. Its diverse habitats create unforgettable safari experiences in every season.
Whether you’re visiting for your first African safari or returning to witness another chapter of the Great Migration, Serengeti delivers unforgettable wildlife encounters, endless photographic opportunities, and some of the most spectacular sunsets on the continent.

Serengeti National Park is easily accessible by both road and scheduled domestic flights. Most visitors begin their safari from Arusha before travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area or flying directly to one of Serengeti’s airstrips.
Scheduled flights operate daily from Arusha, Zanzibar and other major safari destinations, landing at Seronera, Kogatende, Grumeti and several private airstrips throughout the park.
Road safaris normally take between 7 and 8 hours from Arusha, offering spectacular scenery through the Great Rift Valley, Karatu and Ngorongoro Highlands before entering Serengeti National Park.
