DAY 1

Arrival in Tanzania – Tarangire National Park

Welcome to Tanzania's Wildlife Paradise

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional Lowen Safaris guide before departing directly for Tarangire National Park. Known for its magnificent baobab trees, seasonal Tarangire River and one of Africa's largest elephant populations, the park offers an excellent introduction to Tanzania's incredible wildlife. During your first game drive, keep an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes and numerous bird species. Later in the afternoon continue to Karatu where you'll enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater – Flight to Zanzibar

From Africa's Wildlife Paradise to the Indian Ocean

After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 metres into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's greatest natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent, the crater offers outstanding opportunities to spot the Big Five in a single game drive. Search for black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, zebras and thousands of wildebeests while enjoying breathtaking scenery throughout the crater floor. Following a picnic lunch, return to Arusha Airport where you'll board your scheduled domestic flight to the tropical island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your beachfront resort where the remainder of your holiday will be spent relaxing beside the Indian Ocean.
