After breakfast at your hotel, drive to Rongai Gate near the Kenyan border where registration takes place before beginning your climb. The trail passes through beautiful pine forest inhabited by colobus monkeys and colorful birds before gradually ascending toward Simba Camp. This is a gentle introduction to the climb, allowing your body to begin acclimatizing while enjoying magnificent mountain scenery.

Today's trek crosses open moorland with breathtaking views of Mawenzi Peak. Kikelewa Camp is beautifully positioned in a sheltered valley beneath the impressive eastern slopes of Mawenzi.

Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut
